Client Extranet

In keeping with our practicing of maintaining technology practices that benefit our clients, Jean M. Mahserjian, Esq. PC has developed a Client Extranet.  Each client will receive advance notification prior to their case being added to the Extranet. 

In simple terms, a Client Extranet is an online, always available contact and case management tool for clients. We will use the Extranet to allow clients  24/7 online access to  the following:

  • all case documents generated by our office;

  • all case documents received from other sources, including correspondence, notices, completed forms, motions, decisions and orders, and final judgments;

  • an online collaboration tool to allow client comment on and revision of documents that are being processed for the client.

Our Extranet will generate email notifications to our clients each time a new document or comment is posted to their file.  It will also generate email notification to all of our office staff assigned to the client's case when the client posts a new document or comment to the Extranet.

Our extranet will link to forms that clients fill out during the course of our representation.  Filling out this information online will result in saved time and billings by avoiding office conferences to complete those tasks.  We will always, however, remain available for office conferences whenever a client so desires.

Using an Extranet will enable our office to pass on significant savings by avoiding  photocopying and postage expenses that are currently billed to our clients as disbursements.  It should also result in a reduction in client legal fees for telephone calls with attorneys and paralegals in our office.  Those communication charges can significantly increase legal costs.  We are thus very pleased with the potential ability to reduce those expenses with an Extranet. 

We recognize that an Extranet will not be appropriate for all of our clients.  Every client will have the opportunity to opt out of the Extranet. 

We maintain the highest standards for computer security in our office and on our network systems.  Our Extranet will include a Deluxe Security Certificate, and all documentation sent to and received from the extranet will be encrypted.  In addition, each client will be able to access the Extranet only with their link and their password. 

If a client provides access to their Extranet to third parties, they  will risk the dissemination of their sensitive case information as well as the breach of attorney client confidentiality.  Accordingly, we request that no access be provided to the Extranet by the client to any third party.
